Singer - Actor - Coach - Vocologist

Hi, I’m Marisa del Campo, founder of del C. Voice Studios, New York City’s premier boutique voice and artist development studio for people who are ready to let go of obligation and just do their thing.

I started off my professional career as a classically trained singer, but my heart always brought me back to my first love — Musical Theater.

As a musician and actor, I have had the honor to collaborate with artists both regionally and internationally — Dr. Brian Gill, John Astin, Dal Norris, Stan Tucker, William Wesbrooks, Michael Cordovana. I have performed with Grammy nominated classical Indian singer and songwriter, Chandrika Tandon, at the Kennedy Center and I was invited to sing at Carnegie Hall under the baton of esteemed composer John Rutter.

I have written, self-produced, and performed in numerous cabaret shows as well as being a two time winner of NYC’s Cabaret Showdown (a live gameshow-style cabaret competition that requires the singing chops of an America’s Got Talent contestant with the improvisational timing of Who’s Line is It Anyway). Additionally I have had the privilege to be invited to sing in various benefit performances, including a fundraising event for the Center for AIDS Research in New York City.

As a director, I have developed and staged scenes from published plays, musicals, and new works.  I have directed full productions of the Baroque opera, La Calisto by Cavalli at the Peabody Conservatory, The Vagina Monologues, Christopher Durang’s The Actor’s Nightmare, and assisted directed Conrad Susa’s Transformations, at Baltimore Theater Project.

Bottom line is, I have done it all: Singer, actor, coach, director, teacher, and vocologist, which means I’m uniquely qualified to work with you.

From the land of oz to NYC

Ever since I joined the church choir at the age of 8, I’ve been a singer. But I didn’t really get serious until I was cast in The Wizard of Oz — as Tree #2. People joke about being cast as “just a tree” but I actually lived that dream and I was THRILLED.  So thrilled that I put my heart and soul into that role.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, quick cast changes needed to be made, and I got a promotion! Oz got fired, Uncle Henry became Oz, they turned the role of Uncle Henry into Cousin Mabel, and I got the part along with an awesome solo.  I should also add — I STOLE THE SHOW, GOD DAMN IT!

Fun fact: “GOD DAMN IT!” was one of my lines and an old lady was so offended by my language she left the show.  I was causing trouble from the beginning.

I started my journey in the Land of Oz. My love of performing brought me to big houses and small houses all over the world from Carnegie Hall to the small Duomo in Vietri sul Mare, Italy; to the pages of The Baltimore Sun:

“With an arsenal of facial expressions and telling body language, del Campo’s portrayal overflowed with personality… [a] consistently appealing vocalist, producing a warm, smooth sound.”

— TIM SMITH, THE BALTIMORE SUN
